Sunday 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Last shooter must be out on the course by 12 noon.
  • Shoot all known distances: Advanced, Hunter, and Traditional/Beginner
  • Realistic shoot through ravines, woods, and water
  • Money shoot
  • Novelty shoots (thousands of dollars in prizes)

  • Pop-up and moving targets

List of rules for the shooting part of BowFest

1. No crossbows of any style will be permitted!  Only Vertical hand drawn bows are permitted consisting of the following. (compound recurve and long bows)

2 . All shooters must wait until the group in front of the them has safely moved to the next target before shooting.

3 . No entering the shooting courses after 6:00pm and you must be off the course by 9:00pm.

4. No sky drawing. (act of drawing a bow pointing it straight up in the air then bringing it down and pointing it at the target)

5 . No shooting any targets not specifically on the actual numbered courses.

6. One arrow only can be shot at each target.

COURSES

Course & Site Map

BowFest offers four unique Archery loops. All targets are known-distance with three pin placements for Beginner, Hunter or Advanced. Range finders are welcome but yardages are shown at each target. Good hiking shoes and extra arrows are highly recommended.

Appalachian Trail – Starts off with steep shots and terrain then hits food plots and semi-open timber. Good footwear is recommended and it is physically demanding. Takes approx. 2.5 hours.

Amazon River Basin – Starts high on the ridge and drops to the valley with artesian pools, creeks and ancient white cedars along the St. Louis River. Average terrain difficulty. Cedar Lodge at the bottom serves pop, beer, hot dogs & brats.Takes approx. 2.5 hours.

Western Edge – Extreme terrain with steep angle shots up and down the mountain. Good footwear is recommended and it is physically demanding. Takes approx. 2 hours.

African Bush Safari – Runs along the ridge with vista views of the valley and picturesque shots in a remote setting. Easier terrain and the Back 40 Lodge serves pop, beer, hot dogs & brats. Takes approx. 3 hours.
